The Path of Sufi Wisdom with Sheikh Burhanuddin

A transformative and profound experience in the heart of Morocco: an inner and outer journey guided by the wisdom of the Sufi tradition alongside Sheikh Burhanuddin.
Highlights of the Itinerary
🕋 Marrakech (January 08 – 11) | 03 Nights in a Riad
We will experience our welcome in the “Red City” by staying in charming and intimate traditional Riads—our gateways to the timeless fascination of Moroccan culture.
We will perform the Ziara, the pilgrimage of the Sab’atu Rijal: we will spend the full day in the heart of the medina to cross the thresholds of the sanctuaries of the city’s Seven Patron Saints. Leaving behind the bustle of the souks, we will pause in timeless courtyards where the living and the dead have coexisted for centuries, connecting with the deep calm and prayer preserved within them.
We will stand in the presence of Sidi Mohamed Ben Slimane Al-Jazouli—a symbol of prayer and spiritual unity. He was a great master of the Shadhiliyya order and author of the Dala’il al-Khayrat, the most famous devotional collection of blessings upon the Prophet.
We will contemplate the majesty of the Koutoubia: walking through the surrounding gardens and among the remains of the ancient underground mosque, taking a moment to focus on the historical emergence of Maghrebi mysticism.
🌴 Skoura & Kasbah Ait Ben Moro (January 11 – 13) | 02 Nights Half-Board
We will begin our circuit through palm oases and historic earthen dwellings, staying at the fascinating Kasbah Ait Ben Moro.
We will explore the ancient Khettarat: walking through the palm grove to discover these millenary irrigation systems. In rural Sufism, water symbolizes Baraka (divine grace) flowing invisibly; we will experience this walk as a meditation on the sacred engineering of the earth.
We will rediscover the memory of spiritual coexistence: visiting the ruins of ancient oasis structures where the Jewish community and Muslim mystics once lived in perfect symbiosis, offering us a living lesson in universal tolerance.
🧱 Tinejdad & Ksar El Khorbat (January 13 – 14) | 01 Night Half-Board
We will stop at the historic Ksar El Khorbat, a masterpiece of earthen architecture rich in atmosphere and ancient memory.
We will traverse the covered alleyways and mud tunnels: walking in silence through the underground passageways of the Ksar before sunset. We will make use of the acoustic isolation of these structures to simulate the experience of Khalwa (Sufi spiritual retreat and seclusion).
We will visit the Oasis Museum: entering the heart of the Ksar to understand how the daily life of Berber communities was intrinsically linked to a sacred vision of time, work, and the cycles of nature.
🏜️ Mystical Expression in the Desert – Erg Chebbi (January 14 – 16) | 02 Nights Half-Board
We will reach the core of the journey: a total immersion amidst the majestic golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, with accommodation at the Golden Dune Luxury Camp.
We will pause at the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif in Rissani: before entering the desert, we will visit the Tafilalet oasis. We will cross the threshold of this sacred complex—a masterpiece of zellige tilework—to connect with the solemn sacredness emanating from its courtyards.
We will visit the Zawiya of Sidi Larbi ben Abdellah: leaving behind the beaten paths to reconnect with the authentic soul of rural Sufism, keeper of the wisdom of the oases and ancient caravan routes. A sanctuary and resting place that has historically provided refuge, peace, and spiritual refreshment to wayfarers in search of Truth.
We will engage in mystical practices under the stars of Khamlia: beneath the pristine Saharan sky, amidst enchanted tents, we will dedicate ourselves to restorative silence, meditation, and Dhikr sessions (the rhythmic repetition of divine names), amplifying our inner perception. Khamlia is inhabited largely by Gnawa families whose ancestors came from sub-Saharan Africa and were brought north through the trans-Saharan slave trade.
🌿 Agdz & Hara Oasis (January 16 – 18) | 02 Nights Half-Board
We will experience a phase of transition and rest in the enchanting Hara Oasis along the Draa Valley, immersed in the deep peace of nature.
We will discover the ancient Ksour of Tamnougalt: visiting this 16th-century fortified village, an ancient spiritual capital of the valley. Walking among mud ruins and former Quranic schools, we will meditate on the contrast with the lush palm grove and on the cycle of transcendence.
We will crown the journey in the silence of Hara Oasis: concluding our itinerary with a final sharing circle, letting the slow flow of the Draa River accompany the integration of our experience and our return to daily life with a renewed sense of inner peace.
👑 Return to Marrakech & Farewell (January 18 – 19) | 01 Night in a Riad
We will return to Marrakech for one final magical night: after spending days in the silence of Saharan spaces, we will return within the walls of the Red City. The protected intimacy of our traditional Riad will welcome us once again—the perfect setting to treasure the emotions gathered along the path and enjoy a final evening of connection and enchantment.
We will bid farewell to Morocco with our return flight (January 19): on January nineteenth, after a final breakfast immersed in the atmosphere of the medina, we will head to the airport for our return flight. We will carry with us the Baraka of the sanctuaries visited, the deep peace of the oases, and the eternal silence of the desert.
